Although there are fewer photos from today’s adventures at Camp Cadet, there was no lack of energy! Fire/Rescue class….Game Playoffs……and SCUBA diving!

Please remember that graduation will begin at 10:30am.

Photo CD orders will be accepted after graduation. Please bring your order form with you. We will have a limited supply for those who did not pick one up on Sunday. The Photo CDs are available for a donation of $20. ALL proceeds go to Camp Cadet. There will be candid shots from the weeks activities at camp (like the ones you have seen on the website). Plus there will be a photo of each Cadet receiving their Graduation Certificate.

Today at Camp Cadet we had wonderful weather and energy was high. We started our day like previous days this week with reveille at 0600. Followed by Pt, breakfast, and chores. The cadets learned about PSP motorcycle police with a demonstration. The PSP SERT team demonstration went off with a “Bang”. The cadets participated in Field Competitions. Followed by a K9 presentation. And finished their day’s classes with Computer Crime and Internet Safe class. The normal swimming, horseback riding, and and Team Competitions permiated the day.

Wednesday at Camp

Today at Camp Cadet the Cadets were up at 0600….that’s 6AM. Don’t let them tell you its too early to get up when they get home….they are getting quite good at it here! :-) After flag raising, breakfast, and chores the cadets continued their day with Spirit & Discipline . Their classes today ranged from car crash survival to PSP’s H-1 Helicopter. We had a treat again this year with the Iwaniac family giving another of their presentations about the affects of Drunk Driving on the family unit. The Iwaniac’s son, was killed by a drunk driver while heading home after his shift as a State Trooper. The presentation was heartfelt and left an impression with the cadets.

Another of the day’s classes was presented by DA Dave Arnold as well as District Magistrate Vic Frederick. This class is geared to give the cadets insight into the legal system. (What happens to a person after they have been arrested.) Part of this insight is taught by having a “Mock Trial” at Camp Cadet. One of the cadets was “arrested & arraigned” today. He will have an opportunity to consult with counsel tomorrow, and the trial will take place on Friday. We try to stay authentic by having each role of the justice system portrayed by real life counterparts. Real troopers doing the “arrest”… A real arraignment Judge for the “arraignment”… and District Magestrate Vic Frederick will preside over the trial. This is a fun opportunity for the cadets to get involved while learning.

I’m sure you are all anxious and wondering where the pictures of the cadets are from Tuesday. Your computers are not broken, nor is there anything wrong with the website. The pictures are finally here! On Tuesday the cadets had a FULL day of activities ranging from Horseback riding to Fire Marshall to Secret Service to Fish & Game Commission. Enjoy the pictures….

I didn’t forget about all of you. Today, as most days at camp, was action packed and FULL. So full, that this is my first opportunity to update the website with photos. So there are a lot!

The cadet’s day was busy with everything from DEA to PSP Mounted detail to Forensics. I will let the pictures do the talking for the majority of the day…. but we are very thankful for the break in the weather!

Welcome everyone. Today is/was the first day of Camp Cadet for 2010. Cadets were dropped off by their families and quickly began acclimating to their new environment.

Rain was and still is prevalent. …but that does not slow us down a bit! Swim tests are finished, orientation is complete, the US flag is lowered, and dinner done. And, while I am posting these pics, the squads are playing volleyball & kickball. Tonight the cadets will enjoy a range safety class, drug & alcohol abuse class, snack time, and after their cabin inspection, it will be lights out. Then we start all over again tomorrow at 0600 hours for PT (Physical Training).
